The Kaua`i Monk Seal watch Program is a volunteer program that was formally established as a cooperative effort between the Kaua`i Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR), Dept. of Land and Natural Resources; the Honolulu office of the National Marine Fisheries Service; the Kaua`i Division of Conservation and Resource Enforcement, DLNR; the Kaua`i Humpback Whale National Sanctuary Program; the Kaua`i Police Department (Police Dispatch); the Kaua`i County lifeguards; numerous hotel managers and heads of security; and many concerned Kaua`i citizens.
